Desiree and Rob could not have possibly had a more gorgeous day for their wedding at Summerhill Winery. The sunny skies matched the huge smiles that this happy couple had all day long. Their fresh style showcased their fun personalities, and love and joy was written all over the faces of their families and friends.
From sprawling vineyards, to the blue of the lake, to the mountains in the background, Summerhill Pyramid Winery is one of those venues with a view to make your jaw drop. Just a touch of cream draping and black chair sashes with a hint of bling to tie in their colours was all that was needed to make a perfect backdrop for Desiree and Rob's "I do"s.
When planning a summer wedding in the Okanagan, it is important to remember the heat! We are blessed with the most fabulous summers, but it can get toasty in the blazing sun, so remember to provide relief for your guests. Desiree and Rob chose our popular parasols for guests to shade themselves, as well as program fans, designed to match their theme and handy for guests to fan themselves during the ceremony.
Sometimes clients fear using any black in their wedding, but it can be such an elegant choice! It makes a great statement, and you can pair it with white for classic elegance, or add colour to really make it pop. Ria created beautiful and unique bridesmaids' bouquets with fuchsia mukara orchids and purple carnations. The real wow factor was Desiree's bouquet, an artistic combiniation of deep purple calla lilles, mukara orchids, dendrobim orchids, carnations, and greens. This whole wedding party rocked the black and fuchsia combo, no doubt about it!
The combination of colours and patterns in Desiree and Rob's reception made Summerhill's Veranda bright and airy. The double cream ceiling drape gave depth to the ceiling and created a lot of light. The damask patterned runners worked with the fuschia orchids in the centrepieces to create a super chic look while giving a fun and welcoming vibe.
Popcorn bars were even more popular than candy bars this summer. Desiree and Rob collected fun old-school popcorn signs and containers for their popcorn bar/cupcake table.
As the sun set and cast a gorgeous glow across the room, touching toasts were made to the new bride and groom. From the love from their friends and family to the joy on the happy couple's faces, everything about this wedding day was what we love about what we do. Desiree and Rob, we had such a fun time planning your wedding with you, and being a part of your special day was such an honour. My bouquet was so gorgeous and lasted for 2 weeks after the wedding! They were such tough flowers to survive the heat all day. Not to mention the wonderful idea of providing us with a box full of containers with water for the flowers. You honestly think of everything!"
